James Brand

The James Brand is a U.S. manufacturer of beautiful but functional everyday carry knives and accessories. Since 2012, they have been redefining the pocket knife as an essential item of everyday carry for modern life.

The first James designs, like the Chapter, a classic folding frame-lock knife, were primarily the product of everyday use cases. As the brand has grown, it has started to approach product development over time rather than being led by a single designer's concepts. That has meant getting input, ideas, and feedback from the brand's staff and partners across the globe.

The James Brand knife you carry says something about you. The Brand James was created in Portland, Oregon, in 2012 by a group of designers looking for something different and better. Based on the saying that if you can't find what you want, you might have to make it yourself, they decided to design something new: products made with premium materials, a minimalist design aesthetic, and precise attention to detail. Modern, minimal everyday carry is what the James brand is all about.

James Brand makes knives and tools that better reflect our values and lives. The slide-lock technology is a first for us here at TJB. The slide lock is secure, easy to understand, and easy to use. It's a design based on use with one hand and has been a staple of everyday carry knives for a long time.

The Redstone is a small, lightweight knife you could toss in your pack and forget about (until you need it). With premium materials, The Redstone features a wire pocket clip, a hand-hold grip design, an ambidextrous slide lock function, and a partially serrated blade.

The Carter is available in regular and XL sizes so that it will fit hands and jobs of all sizes. If you want something discreet and ride easily in any pocket all day, stick with the standard Carter. If you've got more extensive hands and need a full-size knife for a hardcore work day in and day out, the Carter XL is for you.
